Review: Lifeline

Lifeline Lifeline by Abbey Lee Nash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book from Book Sirens in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone

WOW! I'm not crying, your crying! This book just pulled so much at my heart strings. I could not wait for lunch to come at work so I could read this book and I was counting down the minutes until my children went to bed to get in as many pages as I could.

Lifeline was about a boy need Eli who went to a nice prep school. he was popular, captain of the lacross team and going out with the most prettiest girl in school. His mom married a rich guy and he is living the dream....... or so you thought.

After winning the game for his team Eli attends a party at his team mates house with his girlfriend. While at this party Eli like most teenagers is indulging in drinking and some drugs. This is where Eli overdoses on Herion and ends up in the ICU.

He is in denial that he is an addict and his mother sends him to rehab for 28 days.

Here is where the book gets good.

Eli while going through the steps, meets another junkie like him named RED. Eli makes friends with RED, Will, Prison tat.

During the story Eli is working through his problems and like all of us, struggling to come to terms with the hard stuff.

AND... like most young adult books there is always a little romance.... and that's where we met Libby. An addict with self harm problems

What I loved most about this book is how relatable it is. I loved the characters and grew attached.

I feel this should be a mandatory book that high schools should have to read and than discuss together as a class.

These are tough subjects that some parents and even schools don't even want to talk about. We live in a nation where drug abuse is really a big. We need to step out of our comfort zone and talk to our children and help as many kids as we can,

I'm looking forward to more books from Ms. Nash. This was sooooo good
