This story follows the achievements and careers of two women who met during high school year. Both competing for a scholarship for the best science program. Kit and Diane become friends while studying together in high school. They both have always been competing against each other. One day during cross-country camp the girls told each other deep dark secrets. However, what happens when one friend tells too much, too deep of a secret.

Kit thought she would never have to see or deal with Diane again. However, Diane shows up at the lab she is currently working and things seem to unravel from there. Now they are candidates for the same position in an experimental lab.

Through an accident of circumstances,...they become connected again. But Kit doesn’t want this connection. Diane is strange, odd, and seemingly suffering from a major disconnect

I wanted to quit a lot throughout the book because I was so bored but once you jump on the train you know that somewhere somehow it will get interesting. Towards the end of the book you get the twists and turns and the shocking and inevitable ending.
