The third installment of the Percy Jackson series and I must say that I enjoyed this book the most so far in the series. Very action packed and so many new characters that made the book very enjoyable.  SO… where to begin?

It has been just over 3 months since Percy, Annabeth, and Grover have come back from retrieving the golden fleece and saving Camp Half-Blood along with restoring Thalia to her body, when Percy gets a distress call from Grover asking for help.  Grover has found two Half-Blood siblings and he needs help getting them safely back to camp from a private military school.  Little did they know that the potential Half-Bloods who don’t know there parentage yet, Bianca and Nico De Angelo has a monster hiding in the midst of that military school named Mr. Thorn, a hideous manticore who is under the direct supervision of the General(you will find out who that is later).

When the crew starts fighting Mr. Thorn and things start getting a little rough, we meet some new characters. Artemis (the goddess of maidens and the Hunt) shows up with her Hunters who are trying their best to help. Just when they thought they had a victory, the monster disappears and takes Annabeth!
Even though Percy is desperate to find Annabeth, Artemis convinces him that the monster took her some place he cannot follow everyone returns back to camp, except for Annabeth and Artemis, who has decided to go hunt for a monster by herself, a prophecy is read and 5 must go on a quest to find them both.  Problem is Percy is not allowed to go on this quest. Without anyone's knowledge Percy follows the group on their quest.
Along the way Percy met a cow serpent that he saved from a net and we later find out a surprising secret and tall about this monster. (I am not going to spoil it for you!)
Of course the group finds the General and of course the bad boy Luke where they have to fight to get Annabeth and Artemis and save Mt. Olympus. There were a few tragic deaths in the book and we met some new monsters, skeleton monsters who have a hard time dying.
In the end we learn that Bianca and Nico Di Angelo were Hades' kids and the plot now changes and we are left with yet another cliff hanger ending.

Can't wait to start reading the next book!
