Last of the Independents: Vancouver Noir by Sam Wiebe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
OMG think I found my new favorite author!!!!!! Sam Wiebe Where have you been all my life?!?!
I LOVED this book. It had just enough of everything, and it was FUNNY!
In this book we meet a PI Michael Drayton, who used to be a cop. He is in love with his very sick dog and refuses to put her down, which we will hear about throughout the book. His character is a mix of some type of bad boy with a good hearted hero mixed.
We follow Drayton has he attempts to solve 2 missing children cases and a case where someone is having sex with dead people in a morgue. As we dive into the cases, we also see parts of Drayton's personal life. This insight adds layers to the story while, at the same time, bringing us deeper inside.
